Steady Eddie’s Music Cellar

Saturdays @1pm

Eddie says … “I am a life long resident of Sonoma County, now making my home in Santa Rosa with my wife, Sonia, and cat, Missy. I first got interested in music listening to AM radio, then got turned on to FM in 1972. I also got the opportunity to attend numerous concerts over the years. All this, along with accumulating a large collection of records and CD’s, gave me exposure to a very eclectic mix of music which I am able to share on my KGGV show “Steady Eddie’s Music Cellar” every Sunday from Noon-4 pm.

I first got introduced to radio broadcasting by being a guest on my friend, R.L. Newt’s show on KOWS-FM, playing my collection of 50’s through 70’s rock & roll and rhythm & blues recordings. It whetted my appetite to host my own show. That dream came true in the spring of 2014 when I landed a weekly spot on KGGV where I share some of my favorite music and background details on the artists and their recordings. I chose to focus the program on the pre-rock & roll era music of the 1920’s through the 1950’s, even dipping in the late 19th and early 20th century, often sharing the original versions of songs that became standards later on. Thus “Steady Eddie’s Music Cellar” was born, and by the way, R. L. Newt gave me the nickname “Steady Eddie” when I was a guest DJ on his show.”
